This is a great Freelander, drives beautifully, and has all those extras that makes motoring a joy. The way the window at the rear goes down so you can load your shopping without having to open the back door – or of course give your dogs plenty of air if you have any. All of the useful storage areas and flat surfaces that seem to exist for everything you could possibly want to carry, including the innovative drinks holders in the doors. All electric windows and mirrors. Really cold air conditioning – great for our occassional hot days! Fantastic Sony Xplode stereo with CD player. Hill descent control. Alloy wheels. Stylish roof bars … I could go on and on.

The rear seats fold down better than anything I’ve come across, allowing for tonnes of luggage space if you have bulky items to transport.

This Freelander has a 1.8 litre Petrol engine, which means it is not the gas guzzler that most 4×4’s are.

This Freelander has MOT until 7th November 2011. In all it’s MOT history it has never had an advisory notice issued, and the only time it ever failed was in 2009 when the brake light was not working!

The Freelander has full service history:

  • 14/02/2002    3,450 miles
  • 29/10/2002   13,814 miles
  • 24/09/2003   27,343 miles
  • 17/06/2004   39,046 miles
  • 08/07/2005   51,693 miles
  • 17/07/2006   59,052 miles
  • 24/07/2007   63,420 miles
  • 15/09/2008   67,576 miles
  • 07/11/2010   76,923 miles
  • 27/06/2011   78,081 miles

At 78,081 miles the Freelander also had:

  • Cam belt changed
  • new modified multi layer steel (MLS) head gasket
  • a fully reconditioned cylinder head
  • new water pump
  • new thermostat

The Freelander is mechanically and cosmetically sound – no funny noises or rattles. There is no sign of rust, as can be seen on the photos (please click here to see more photographs), however I must point out that there is one ding in the body work on the drivers side rear door. There is no paint damage and can only be seen at certain angles – see the photos.

This Freelander has such style, comfort and versatility, no wonder they are the best all-rounders in their class. It is a solid, quality 4×4 at a bargain price.

Excellent value and a stunning car – go on, give it some fun – you know you want to!
